Jeffrey Shannon was born and raised in a small town south of Buffalo, NY. After receiving his Bachelor of Electrical Engineering degree in 2001 from the University of Dayton in Ohio, he worked as an engineer and math and science teacher for several years.

Dr. Shannon returned to school, earning his Doctorate of Audiology (Au.D.) from the University of Louisville, Kentucky. He then began his career at the Veterans Administration National Center for Rehabilitative Auditory Research (NCRAR) in Portland, Oregon, where he helped develop and improve diagnostic testing, treatment devices, and management services for veterans with hearing loss, tinnitus (ringing in the ears), and auditory processing problems. Upon returning to New York, Dr. Shannon joined Dr. Loavenbruck at Hudson Valley Audiology with the intent of providing the highest level of hearing healthcare to his patients in Rockland County and the surrounding community.

Dr. Shannon is a committee member and fellow of the American Academy of Audiology (FAAA), a member of the Academy of Doctors of Audiology (ADA), and member of Audigy Group, a highly prestigious, select group of independent private practice audiologists from around the country. More locally, Dr. Shannon is leading an initiative to install hearing loops through out the Hudson Valley region, and helped to install the first one in Rockland County. He also provides training and professional services to several school districts in Rockland County, gives monthly informational seminars to the community on various hearing healthcare topics, and has a monthly radio show on WRCR, AM 1300 (www.wrcr.com) the first Wednesday of every month at 10:10am.

Dr. Shannon is the professional advisor for the Hearing Loss Association of America’s Westchester and Rockland County chapter. He is a board member of the Rockland Independent Living Center, a chapter member of Business Networking International, and a member of St. Augustine’s Church in New City. He and his wife Erin, a Speech-Language pathologist in the Nyack Public Schools, currently live in New City. They are proud parents of their daughter, Vienna Marie, and son, Matthew Jeffrey.

Dr. Angela Loavenbruck, Ed.D. FAAA, DirectorDr. Angela Loavenbruck, Ed.D. FAAA, Associate Director

Angela Loavenbruck has been in private practice in New City, New York since 1975 and is widely known for her expertise in evaluating and fitting hearing instruments. Dr. Loavenbruck has served on numerous professional committees, including national audiology standards councils and ethical practice boards. With Jane Madell, she published Hearing Aid Dispensing for Audiologists – A Guide for Clinical Practice – the first textbook on hearing instrument dispensing for audiologists.

Dr. Loavenbruck served two terms as president of the New York State Speech-Language-Hearing Association (NYSSLHA) and received the Distinguished Service Award in 1997. She was also awarded the Joel Wernicke Award by the Academy of Doctors of Audiology (ADA) for her work on behalf of audiology education. Dr. Loavenbruck was president of the American Academy of Audiology (AAA) from 2002-2003.

The current Code of Ethics was developed during her presidency and she has spoken widely about the necessity for a strong audiology Code of Ethics. She served as chair of the Accreditation Council for Audiology Education, and currently serves on the ACAE board and the AAA Foundation Board. Dr. Loavenbruck has been Associate Professor of Audiology at Teachers College, Columbia University. She has been an invited speaker on hearing instrument evaluation and fitting issues at conferences throughout the country.

Mary is a graduate of the University of Delaware with a major in Sociology. She has extensive work experience with marketing and event planning. She manages all front office operations, including scheduling your appointments, answering your questions about insurance, and providing details about our services. Mary resides in New City, NY with her husband John, a NYC fireman, and their two children Colin and Avery.

Kathleen is a life-long resident of Rockland County and has significant work experience within the insurance business. Kathleen handles all orders for hearing devices, ear molds, and assistive listening devices. In addition, she schedules your appointments, helps you check in, and verifies insurance benefits. Kathleen resides in Garnerville, NY with her husband Tony and their three children, John, Kristen, and Danny.

Samantha was born and raised in Rockland County, she received her Bachelor's in Communication Disorders from Suny New Paltz. Samantha works on our front office scheduling appointments, greeting patients and handling patient needs, including orders of Hearing Devices, molds and supplies. Samantha also assists the Audiologists with the repairs and programming of Hearing Devices.




Kathleen, Patient Care CoordinatorLiana Antonucci, Front Office Staff

Liana was born and raised in Valley Cottage. Liana is a graduate of the University Of Massachusetts Amherst with a major in Psychology. She is currently in graduate school for a Masters in Special Education. Liana assists in the front office with scheduling appointments, following up with patients and with ordering hearing devices, molds and assistive listening devices.
